On Friday, Jan. 19, a tribute to Janet Jackson will occur at Cervantes’ Other Side in Denver. Billed as If You’re Nasty, the impending night of music is slated to feature performers such as Shira Elias (Cool Cool Cool), Brittany Beckett (Watermelon Funk), Isaac Teel (TAUK), DJ Williams, Eric Luba (So Many Colors) and Dominick Williams.
The grouping of aforementioned participants, who represent a wide range of music industry talent, will be backed by support from Supermagick, an ensemble known for saluting the late Amy Winehouse by adding a layer of rhythm, blues, soul, and jazz to their live performances.
At the If You’re Nasty concert, musicians will run through an assemblage of music from the famed singer, songwriter, and dancer archive, reflecting the pomp of Jackson’s eclectic discography, which features more than 10 solo albums, beginning with her 1982 self-titled set, which produced such R&B favorites as “Young Love,” “Come Give Your Love to Me” and “Say You Do.”
Tickets for If You’re Nasty are on sale now and can be purchased here.
