This morning, Dec. 19, Widespread Panic keyboardist JoJo Hermann released three original compositions. The new material was shared via his official website and includes instrumentals dubbed “Christmas in St. Louis,” “Skating on the Pond,” and “Snowy Bridge.” Listen now.
The new songs illuminate the artist’s musical prowess as he cascades through the season, guided by a natural ambiance akin to the Yuletide spirit. The material is easy listening, ideal for the holiday season, and at times presents a sense of timelessness associated with classic holiday composition contrived long ago.
Notably, the new music arrives before Widespread Panic’s New Year’s Eve run, which will take place over three days, Dec. 29 through 31, at The Fox Theatre in Atlanta. After ringing in 2024, the band will take a small break before their Jan. 18, 19, and 20 appearances at Stifel Theatre in St. Louis.
