ANALOGr.com has detailed an impending auction celebrating the history and cultural impact of the Grateful Dead, opening on Nov. 30. Capturing the specialty of songs that fill the air and the legacy of the band and music, the auction presents memorabilia from Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, Rat Dog’s Ron Wasserman and others.

The auction comprises over 100 lots, allowing fans the opportunity to own a piece of music history–from contemporary art, instruments, photography, vintage and modern items, as well as collectible t-shirts, backstage passes, flyers, posters, and much more. A large number of items available have been consigned directly from the artist or their estate, with more commodities becoming available at a later date.

In addition to key players from the Grateful Dead, counter-culture enthusiasts and fringe members like Herb Greene, Jay Blakesberg, Retro Photo Archive, Rock Scully, Stanley Mouse, Wally Heider, Courtenay Pollock, Hard Truckers, Dick Latvala, Marty Clein, Robbi Cohn, Antonio Reonegro, Anthony Coscia, Nora Sage and Jason Scheuner will also have items available.

For photography fans, a pair of images by Ron Rakow will be auctioned on December 2. Discovered by fellow famed photographer Jay Blakesberg and previously in storage for almost 50 years, the shots capture an intimate scene between Garcia and Mountain Girl on July 2, 1967, and a solo shot of Garcia during the recording of the Dead’s first record in February 1967. See above.

Moreover, the auction will also present a ¼ scale replica of the band’s famous “Wall of Sound,” known as the largest concert sound system at the time and designed by Owsley “Bear” Stanley. Also included is Garcia’s touring guitar rig, Weir’s McIntosh amp, a pair of 1972 Hard Trucker Speakers, and much more.

A VIP auction preview will take place at the Soho House in Los Angeles on Monday, Nov. 27, followed by the ANALOGr.com online auction, which will open at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 30. Then, on Saturday, Dec. 2, a VIP invite-only event, featuring local tribute band, The People’s Dead will function as the final event.
