Today, TAUK, the instrumental quartet known for their genre-blending sound, are set to unveil their latest instrumental studio album, EQUALIZER, coinciding with their highly anticipated Oogie Boogie Nights Halloween event in Denver. The event spans two nights with sets from Doom Flamingo both evenings and Dopapod, Shawarma, and special guest DJ Mongo this evening and TAUK Moore, along with sets from Dandu and newcomer DJ Sleepy, tomorrow.
The new album, EQUALIZER, serves as a testament to TAUK’s innovative and creative approach, promising an immersive listening experience that boldly pushes the boundaries of instrumental music. Building anticipation, the album’s heralded singles “Melvin’s Mind,” “Sound the Alarm,” and “Home of The Beast” offer a taste of the inspired and enthralling studio work found within.
The quartet, consisting of Matt Jalbert (guitar), Charlie Dolan (bass), Alric “A.C.” Carter (keys), and Isaac Teel (drums), is renowned for their high-octane live performances, technical proficiency, and their ability to reimagine iconic songs from past decades.
“EQUALIZER leans into the part of TAUK that is all about letting the compositions take you through a lot of twists and turns…” Jalbert explained in a press release. “These songs are about just finding joy in the wild noises us four guys can make together when we don’t set any boundaries.”
Tonight’s Halloween performance marks another milestone for an incredible 2023 for TAUK, who shared performances with fans at esteemed festivals and venues such as Summer Camp Music Festival, Brooklyn Bowl, Mountain Music Festival, The Peach Music Festival, The Blue Note Jazz Festival and more. Notably, in June, they collaborated with Charleston, S.C.’s powerhouse vocalist from Doom Flamingo Kanika Moore, to release the groundbreaking nine-track EP Tauk Moore.
EQUALIZER is now available on all major streaming platforms, and tickets for both nights of Oogie Boogie Nights are on sale. Listen to EQUALIZER below.
