Today, trance-fusion pioneers The Disco Biscuits announced they’d close out their incredible 2023 in style, a three-show finale effectively welcoming in the new year, 2024.
To initiate the celebratory run, The Disco Biscuits will make a return to the iconic Palladium in the heart of New York’s Times Square with a late-night performance on Dec. 28. They’ll then bring the exhilaration to their hometown of Philadelphia, with a two-night stint at the renowned Franklin Music Hall. The Philadelphia shows will commence on Saturday, Dec. 30, and feature support from the Boston-based jamband Neighbor. The grand culmination of the newly announced series will close on New Year’s Eve, Sunday, Dec. 31.
Both of these venues are no strangers to The Disco Biscuits and their devoted fans, playing an integral role in the band’s storied history and musical journey, with nearly 80 performances collectively across the various names these venues have undergone. The stages also witnessed some of their most iconic and acclaimed shows, including the unforgettable New Year’s ’02 “History of the Disco Biscuits” show.
Commenting on the significance of their return to the Palladium in NYC, Aron Magner emphasized the history shared with the venue. “We have a lot of history in the Palladium in NYC – from Nokia to Best Buy to PlayStation and now Palladium, our roots run thick there. Interestingly, that very room in Times Square plays a pivotal role in the story within our upcoming album. But we’ll tell you more about that later,” shared Magner.
2023 has been momentous for The Disco Biscuits: they performed over 70 shows and celebrated their return to the West Coast after more than a decade. They also brought their sound all the way to Iceland. More recently, the band introduced their inaugural festival, BISCOLAND, slated for Oct. 6 and 7 in upstate New York. The event will feature The Disco Biscuits for four sets and Lotus for two sets across both days, accompanied by an impressive lineup of musical luminaries from the jamband, jamtronica and electronic scenes.
