Christopher Bear and Daniel Rossen of the acclaimed band Grizzly Bear have teamed up to create the original score for Celine Song’s new film, Past Lives, produced by A24 – the soundtrack is set to be released on June 9 through A24 Music. Notably, the score includes a captivating new song titled “Quiet Eyes,” performed by Sharon Van Etten and Zachary Dawes, and today, Bear and Rossen shared two of their compositions: “Why Are You Going to New York” and “Across the Ocean.”
Past Lives, directed by Celine Song, is a poignant romance film that unfolds the tale of two childhood friends from South Korea who reunite after two decades in New York. The movie features an excellent cast, including Greta Lee, Teo Yoo, and John Magaro.
In addition to his work with Grizzly Bear, Rossen released his highly acclaimed debut solo album, You Belong There, last year. While Bear, known for his musical contributions to High Maintenance, also released solo music under the moniker Fools. Grizzly Bear’s latest album, Painted Ruins, was released in 2017.
