After a steady stream of “gyming” Instagram reels, Bobby Weir has announced the launch of a new workout video. The forthcoming release, titled Built to Last, features a 30-day fitness regimen created by the founding member of the Grateful Dead, along with bonus features and special guest appearances.

Early in his career, Weir realized he needed immense strength to carry the weight of Jerry Garcia’s improvisational playing and untrammeled creativity. Before long, Weir discovered no mace was too heavy to swing and the regimen was born.

On Built to Last, Weir will welcome the well-toned talent that has previously been featured in his virtual training sessions, including Goose’s Rick Mitarotonda, who participates in a special edition 60-minute hot yoga session titled “Dripfield.”

A guided meditation with longtime Deadhead Al Franken also is included. Franken provides a nasal drone while reading selections from his best-selling book Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right.

In addition to the taped elements, the package also features “Bobby Pants,” available in mid-calf cropped capris and, just in time for summer, extra short! According to a press release, the shorts were partly inspired by Jane Fonda’s iconic jazzercise leg warmers without the pesky restrictions of clothing material.

Build to Last will only be available on VHS to honor “gyming” heroes like Richard Simmons and the ThighMaster lady, as well as fellow pioneers such as Marky Mark.
