The beloved off-season festival WinterWonderGrass has announced the lineup for their 10th annual celebration in Steamboat Springs, Colo., set for March 3-5, 2023. To celebrate the milestone, the festival will welcome back the headliners from its inaugural lineup, Greensky Bluegrass and The Infamous Stringdusters.

Aside from the return of that pair of heavy-hitting acts, the festival also boasts a variety of big names in the roots, bluegrass and folk music worlds, including Leftover Salmon, Paul Cauthen, Kitchen Dwellers, The Lil Smokies, The Lone Bellow and Neal Francis will take the stage over the course of three days.

WinterWonderGrass began as a small, one-day festival in Edwards, Colo., in 2013 before steadily growing into a two-day gathering near Nottingham Lake in Avon, Colo. since expanding into an immersive experience, a three-day beer and music festival set in the beautiful town of Steamboat Springs, Colo., the festival has continued to cultivate the relationship between nature, music and community. It has also established itself as a vehicle for inspiration and a place that cultivates an authentic platform for artists, vendors, attendees and the planet to connect.

As the festival’s history reaches the decade mark, organizers are cheerfully looking back and celebrating its growth: Founder Scott Stoughton described the inaugural WinterWondergrass as “a hope, a dream and some luck.” He continued to express in a statement, “The people came and came in droves to the first WinterWonderGrass. A bluegrass-focused, acoustic-driven music festival in the middle of the winter in Colorado may not make much sense to many folks. Still, it was just the medicine the Mountain Community craved, and they loved it.”

Stoughton continued to share he believes the cold weather and winter landscape are part of what makes the festival special. “I quickly realized that the challenge of weather became an ally,” he added. “Those willing to endure the elements for their medicine, to prepare for Mother Nature’s contribution, genuinely are the heartiest souls. The energy they bring, the commitment to the mountain culture, the kids, the grandparents, all for one and one for all. There is really nothing quite like it.”

The 2023 weekend will kick off with a free show on by Trout Steak Revival at the base of Steamboat Resort on Thursday, March 2. The concert will be followed by the event’s iconic Mountain Top Dinner, featuring two sets by Big Richard, appetizers, a one-hour complimentary craft beverage tasting, and local food.
