Greensky Bluegrass and The Wood Brothers continued their joint tour this week in the Southern region of the United States. Following a weekend filled with sit-ins and collaborative performances along the Eastern Seaboard. The groups continued said trend on Wednesday night at Ting Pavilion in Charlottesville, Va., and again during last night’s concert at Salvage Station Outdoors in Asheville, N.C.

Wednesday night’s set performed by Greensky Bluegrass in the Old Dominion state got underway with the Paul Hoffman-penned “Old Barn,” followed by “Ashes” and “All Four,” which streamed into the first 2022 cover of Talking Head’s “Road to Nowhere.” Next, the group worked into a pairing of “A Letter to Seymour” and “In Control,” capped with a selection of originals, ahead of the night’s debut.

Midway through Wednesday evening’s single set performance, Greensky Bluegrass invited Oliver Wood to add his signature vocals and guitar to the first-ever cover of John Prine’s “That’s the Way the World Goes ‘Round.” After the night’s sit-in, Greensky Bluegrass continued with The Dillards’ “Reuben’s Train,” following the night’s choice covers, the ensemble finished their show with several tunes from across their repertoire to cap their time in Charlottesville, Va.

After their time in Charlottesville, Va., Greensky Bluegrass and The Wood Brothers packed up their gear and headed south towards Asheville, N.C., for a Thursday night concert at Salvage Station Outdoors. Last night’s performance saw Greensky Bluegrass start the night with “Living Over” and “Windshield” before working into a bust out of U2’s “Where the Streets Have No Name,” which was last played on Oct. 31, 2019, at Chicago Theatre.

Following Thursday night’s bust out, Greensky Bluegrass welcomed Oliver Wood to the stage to assist on “Broken Highways.” The single-set performance featured illustrious jams on many originals before they closed the block of music out with the Dave Bruzza written “Kerosene.” For the night’s encore, they welcomedThe Wood Brothers for a take on Steeldrivers’ “Heaven Sent.” After the single song collaboration, The Wood Brothers left the stage, leaving Greensky Bluegrass to end the night on John Hartford’s “Get No Better” and the traditional “Down By the River.”

Next up, Greensky Bluegrass and The Wood Brothers will continue their tour tonight at The Caverns Amphitheatre in Pelham, Tenn. Then, they’ll conclude their joint run on Saturday, Aug. 20, at Red Hat Amphitheater in Raleigh, N.C.
