Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders teased the band’s much anticipated forthcoming LP at DrumathonLIVE 2022. He claimed their new album “kinda picks up where” 2018’s Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino left off.

While Arctic Monkeys has not officially announced the new LP, Helders’ comments give fans good reason to gain excitement. He dropped hints that the forthcoming music has moved beyond the band’s 2012, “RU Mine?” alluding to the sound of the LP, “there are riffs in there and a bit more up-tempo, even though it’s not loud.” He concluded, “It’s hard to explain.”

Helders’ comments come after a 2021 interview with BBC Radio where he reported that the LP was “pretty much” ready, with some minor “bits to finish off.”
