Thundercat has announced a tour slated for Summer 2022. The bassist’s latest dates will happen alongside his gig opening for the Red Hot Chili Peppers and multiple festival appearances. The tour will mark the artist’s most extensive North American headlining tour to date.

The Grammy-Award-winning performer will begin his solo stand with a gig at Las Vegas’ Brooklyn Bowl on July 23. He’ll follow with two performances opening for the Red Hot Chili Peppers in California before appearing at Blue Note Jazz Festival Napa in St. Helena, Calif., on July 30.

From there, Thundercat will travel to Canada to perform at Orpheum Theatre in Vancouver, B.C., on August 4. Then, he’ll head to Salt Lake City to play at The Union on August 6 before making his way to Kansas City, Mo., two days later. After a few more opening gigs for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, he’ll appear at College Street Music in New Haven, Conn., on August 16.

A week later, on August 23, Thundercat will play at The Eagles Ballroom in Milwaukee, Wis., before popping up at KEMBA Live! in Columbus the next day. Next, he’ll trek to Stage AE in Pittsburgh on August 26, ahead of a gig at Rabbit Rabbit in Asheville, N.C. Then, on Sept. 4, the bassist will perform at Richmond’s The National.

Thundercat will continue his run on Sept. 6 with a performance at PromoWest Pavilion at Ovation in Newport, Ky., and a show on Sept. 12 at The NorVa in Norfolk, Va. Then, following a Florida gig opening for the Chili Peppers, Thundercat will play at Iron City in Birmingham, Ala., on Sept. 16, and The Big Easy’s Orpheum Theater on Sept. 20.

The tour’s last stops will occur in the Southern region of the United States, with three solo performances in the Lone Star States. In addition, a special stop is slated for Sept. 24, when Thundercat welcomes Khruangbin as support at his Germania Insurance Amphitheater show in Austin, Texas, on Sept 24. The tour’s final stop is scheduled for Sept. 25; Thundercat will perform at FORMAT Festival in Bentonville, Ark.

Tickets go on sale Friday, May 6 at 10 a.m. local time.
