The Rock and Roll Playhouse, a musical collective that celebrates, educates and introduces kids to classic rock-and-roll music, has announced they’ll be celebrating Earth Day with a Grateful Dead concert series around the nation. The series will take place at at 14 locations on both days of Earthday Day Weekend – April 23 and 24.
The Grateful Dead famously advocated for the well-being of the planet and curated an environment that emanated love, peace and awareness. As such, a portion of all of the proceeds will go to the Grateful Dead’s official non-profit, the Rex Foundation, which continues to support organizations working to protect the Earth.
“We’re excited to bring families together across the country to celebrate Earth Day Weekend,” said Senior Director of The Rock and Roll Playhouse Stephen Grybowski in a statement. “The Grateful Dead were not only a phenomenal band with classic songs, but they were environmentally aware—that’s a connection that makes these shows an even more special celebration for families as we inspire the next generation of young rockers.”
The locations where families can experience live music and celebrate this beautiful blue marble with The Rock and Roll Play House include Garica’s in Port Chester, N.Y., Terminal West in Atlanta, The Rock and Roll Playhouse’s flagship venue the Brooklyn Bowl in Brooklyn, N.Y., Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley, Calif. the Funky Biscuit in Boca Raton, Fla., and more.
