Billy Strings has announced he will perform at the grand opening of Boston’s newest venue, Roadrunner, on March 15. Once it opens, the 3,500 capacity location will be New England’s largest general admission indoor venue, with a capacity of 1,500 more than The House of Blues Boston.

“We’re hyped to be performing the GRAND OPENING,” Strings wrote on social media. “Let’s break in this new venue properly! It’s not every day we get to play the very first show ever for a venue.”

Roadrunner is the latest venue from AEG Live regional partner, The Bowery Presents, which runs venues in Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, New Orleans and more. Since announcing the opening in May, Roadrunner has laid out the acts it’ll welcome in the upcoming months.

After Strings, Roadrunner will invite Khruangbin, Dropkick Murphys, Mitski, Bleachers, Black Tiger Sex Machine in the first month alone. Other notable acts include Trey Anastasio Band on May 7 and 8 and Lake Street Dive on June 11 and 12.
