MerleFest has announced the second round of artists slated to take the stage from April 28 through May 1 in Wilkesboro, NC. Old Crow Medicine Show, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Steep Canyon Rangers, Allison Russell and We Banjo 3 have joined the lineup.

In addition to the latest round of musical acts set to perform, Merlefest has also shared Darrell Scott, Alison Brown, 49 Winchester, Arlo McKinley, Rev. Peyton’s Big Damn Band, The Arcadian Wind, Caleb Caudle and Dr. Bacon will take play this spring. 

The festival began in 1988 in memory of the legendary musicians Doc Watson and Eddy Merle Watson and acts as a late homecoming for Wilkes Community College as they welcome musicians and music fans to the campus for a music-filled weekend in the Old North State. 

Previously announced, Andy May, Banknotes, Carol Rifkin, Charles Welch, Donna the Buffalo, Happy Traum, Jack Lawrence, Jeff Little Trio, Jerry Douglas, Jim Lauderdale, Joe Smothers, Kruger Brothers, Laura Boosinger, Mark Bumgarner, Mitch Greenhill, Pete & Joan Wernick, Peter Rowan, Presley Barker, Roy Book Binder, Sam Bush, Scythian, T. Michael Coleman, The InterACTive Theatre of Jef, The Local Boys, The Waybacks, Tony Williamson, and Wayne Henderson will also play.
