Jesse Malin has announced he will continue his annual New Year’s tradition of gathering his friends for a good cause at The Roxy in Los Angeles on Jan. 8. In the last few years, Malin’s shows have benefitted The Strummer Foundation and Music and Memory.

This year, the special show will benefit his friend Howie Pyro, a beloved musician, DJ, writer, troublemaker and member of D Generation and Danzig. Pyro has been fighting for his life and is in recovery from a liver transplant. The funds raised will cover medical and living expenses for the next year as he recovers.

Howie’s influence is everywhere, and he has devoted his life to pushing the boundaries of everything weird and wild in music,” said Malin in a press release. “He is my brother and has touched so many of our lives for decades. We love you Howie and want to see you back in the saddle and raising hell again soon.”

The show will kick off with Jesse Malin and his band, followed by Butch Walker, Jakob Dylan, Suzi Gardner (L7), HR (Bad Brains), Danny Sage (D Generation), Richard Bacchus (D Generation), Clem Burke (Blondie), Kid Congo (The Cramps, Gun Club, Bad Seeds), Wayne Kramer (MC5), Jimmy G. (Murphy’s Law), Prima Donna, Dave Catching (Eagles of Death Metal), Immy (Counting Crows), and more.
