Texas-natives Leon Bridges and Khruangbin’s September performances from The Moody Theatre for Austin City Limits have been released for streaming. The 54-minute broadcast features six songs performed by Bridges and four tracks by Houston’s electric groove trio Khruangbin.
The Fort Worth R&B singer-songwriter kicked off his second ACL appearance on Sept. 14 with “Steam” from 2021 LP Gold-Diggers Sound. After that, Bridges kept the focus on his latest album featuring performances of “Born Again,” “Motorbike,” “Blue Mesas” and “Sweeter.” Leon finished the set with “Bad Bad News” from his 2018 album Good Thing.
Khruangbin made their debut at Austin City Limits on Sept. 13, taking the stage with a career spanning series of songs, including “People Everywhere (Still Alive)” and “White Gloves” off their 2015 debut studio album The Universe Smiles Upon You. Bassist Laura Lee, drummer Donald “DJ” Johnson and guitarist Mark Speer closed the set with “First Class” off their 2020 LP Mordechai.
