Just as they wrap their fall tour, Arizona jam quartet Spafford have announced that keyboardist Andrew “Red” Johnson has tested positive for COVID-19.

“The rest of the band and crew are all safe and healthy with negative test results,” the band explained on Nov. 4. “We carry tests with us and are all testing rigorously.”

The band played a show just a day before the announcement – in fact, it was their first-ever gig in the state of Iowa.

Spafford will finish out their tour this weekend in Milwaukee and Chicago. They have yet to announce whether they’ll perform with a stand-in for Johnson or play sans keys.

To all our fans attending our shows this weekend in Milwaukee and Chicago, we regret to inform you that Red has left tour due to a positive Covid test. We have been following strict protocols and testing regularly. The rest of the band and crew are all safe and healthy with negative test results. We carry tests with us and are all testing rigorously. It is our wish to finish this weekend’s shows strong after what has been a musically peak experience all fall. Please join us in wishing Red a speedy recovery and we hope to see you for these last three nights of tour.
