Lotus have announced they’ll be performing a special hometown show at the Ardmore Music Hall in Ardmore Pa. just outside of Philadelphia on Thursday, Sept. 16. The performance is set to welcome the band’s new lead guitarist Tim Palmieri for his first official show.
Previous lead guitarist and founding member of Lotus, Mike Rempel, performed his final show with Lotus at SummerDance festival in Garrettsville Ohio, on Sept. 5.
“Well, what does a person say at a time like this?” Rempel said to a crowd of fans shouting out in adoration after his final set, “This has been so so beautiful I appreciate all of you so much… thank you all so much, this has been a precious journey that will stay with me forever.”
After 20 years with the band, Rempel will step away from music entirely to focus on health and wellness advocacy and engagement according to a statement he wrote earlier this year.
Of Palmieri, Rempel said during his closing statement to fans at SummerDance, “he’s an amazing human being, he’s going to rock it, these guys are going to keep bringing it and keep pushing the boundaries and I have so much confidence in what they’re going to do.”
Palmieri is known for his work with Kung Fu, The Breakfast and more. Read more about the band’s newest and integral addition here.

September 13, 2021 at 1:28 amAll these years I never knew Tim was in Kung Fu. I never gave them any attention but had I known I would have. Point being he is really good. Used to love seeing The Psychedelic Breakfast back in the day. Haven’t listened to Lotus much after their epic first album but I’ll be paying more attention now. Glad they found a good fit and will be carrying on.
