Phish kicked off their highly anticipated run at The Gorge on Friday, Aug. 27, immediately honoring the late Charlie Watts with a cover of The Rolling Stones “Torn and Frayed”
From there, Phish dotted Friday’s first set with some significant bust-outs, namely “Leaves” – last seen on 9/3/17, show gap: 102 – and “Ha Ha Ha,” last seen on the final night of the band’s Baker’s Dozen run, 8/6/17, show gap: 105. (As for the jamming, Friday’s second set “Camel Walk” was also a point of much conversation, clocking in around 17-minutes.)
From there, Phish continued the bustout trend on Saturday.
After opening night two with a rocking “Carini”> “Maze”> “46 Days,” setlist statisticians rejoiced at the band’s first “Esther” since July 30, 2017 (show gap: 111).
Night two also featured a nice “Scents and Subtle Sounds”> “Bug”> “Possum” run to end the second half, as well as a three-part encore of “Bittersweet Motel”> “Heavy Things” and “About to Run.”
Phish will close their Gorge run on Sunday, Aug. 29.
