The Killers performed to a sold-out audience at New York’s Terminal 5 marking the first time the band have played a proper show since Dec. 2019. The venue which can house 3,000 people acted as a warm-up show for the band, who will be playing at the huge We Love NYC: The Homecoming Concert in Central Park on Saturday, Aug. 21.
Before hopping on the stage the band took some time, so much so, it had fans worried. When a man dressed as a doctor and covered with personal protective equipment walked on stage, it caused major pause for some. The man said he was the band’s doctor and that, “the band has tested extremely positive…with rock and roll!” Before The Killers came on stage opening with their 2020 single “Dying Breed.” The band took hold of the evening instantly through playing tracks off of their album Imploding the Mirage, their new LP Pressure Machine and beloved fan favorites. The evening also marked the return of the Killers guitarist Dave Keuning.
All of the patrons at Terminal 5 had to provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test taken within 48 hours to attend the show.
The Killers will be returning to New York City to perform two nights at Madison Square Garden in 2022.
