In a New York City court filing, Bob Dylan has been accused of “battery, assault, infliction of emotional distress and false imprisonment,” stemming from a 1960s interaction with an underage girl.

According to the lawsuit (obtained by TMZ), “Dylan’s accuser claims she was only 12 years old when he started grooming her for sex, using his celebrity to gain her trust and exert control over her as part of a plan to sexually abuse and molest her.”

The accused acts are said to have taken place between April and May of 1965, and Dylan’s representatives have swiftly denied the claims, saying, “The 56-year-old claim is untrue and will be vigorously defended.”

Further reporting by CNN has revealed that the accuser (now 65-years-old) is seeking punitive damages to salve “serious and severe mental distress, anguish, humiliation and embarrassment, as well as economic losses.”
