The Black Crowes have reignited their longstanding interpersonal feuds, with guitarist Rich Robinson bluntly telling Long Island Weekly why drummer Steve Gorman was left out of their upcoming reunion tour.

“Steve was one of the incredibly negative and manipulative forces in the band that we really didn’t want to deal with,” he told the publication. “In order to get back, we really had to do this very specific purge where we focus on the two of us and let this be something that will be positive.”

Gorman almost immediately quipped back via Twitter, retweeting the article with a dry-humored, “Damn, my bad y’all.”

After years of public arguing, Rich and Chris Robinson seemingly buried their hatchet in November 2019 at New York’s Bowery Ballroom, plotting an extensive tour under the Black Crowes banner for this summer.

Gorman recounted his own issues with the band in a 2019 chat with Relix saying, “I’m not gonna play with [Rich and Chris] for a variety of reasons. Number one: They’re never gonna ask me because I’m not coming back unless I get my equal share. Even if they were to ask me back, though, the chances of me saying yes are infinitesimal.”
