Newport Folk Festival’s two-weekend Folk On format will continue on with its atypical vibe this year, opting out of standard roster of artists and allowing a shroud of mystery around who exactly will be performing.

“This year, out of respect for our artists, we’re letting them decide whether or not to announce if they’re playing FOLK ON or to keep it a surprise,” reads an official description. “This is why you haven’t seen our regular lineup announcements, and instead have been seeing artists self-announcing. We created this page to aggregate all the artist announcements. Of course, this isn’t the full lineup, and we’ll be adding to this list should artists choose to self-announce.”

Currently, some of the self-announced artists include Grace Potter on July 23, Randy Newman on July 24, Devon Gilfillian’s “What’s Going On” tribute on July 25 and Billy Strings on July 25 and 26, and Yola with performances TBA.
