There was an intergenerational Allman Brothers celebration on June 9 in the band’s hometown of Macon, Ga. as the Allman Betts Band welcomed Chuck Leavell to the stage.
Leavell joined the band – spearheaded by Devon Allman and Duane Betts – for the Allman Brothers favorites “Southbound” and “Blue Sky” as well as “Dead Flowers” by The Rolling Stones.
The outing also marked the ABB’s longest show to date, clocking in at over three hours.
“A high time was had by all on this marathon!” the Allman Betts Band wrote afterwards.
Stay up to date with the Allman Betts Band’s upcoming tour dates via their official website.

June 14, 2021 at 8:38 amThanks Chas! For the record, no members of Gov’t Mule are from Georgia either, however that band was conceived and formed right here in Macon. Howetown? Debatable, REM, WSP….some members not from GA, some from Macon. Band hometown, athens, GA….see how it works Chas? ABB hometown…MACON, GA!

June 13, 2021 at 1:50 pmFor accuracy, the ABB was formed in Jacksonville, FL in March 1969. The majority of the band members were from Florida, including Jacksonville native Butch Trucks. The band moved to Macon, GA due to signing with Capricorn records, who was based there, and the band ended up being based there. No members are from Georgia, let alone Macon. I am sure this concert was great, but just stating the facts.
