Widespread Panic have released a statement on their upcoming shows in the COVID-19 era. The band noted that shows will soon resume, but fans will be “voluntarily assum[ing] all risks related to COVID-19 exposure” by attending. They also noted that different venues, cities and states have varied rules for concerts, so fans should be sure to keep up to date on those as concerts approach.

“We are happy to announce that the Band and Fans WILL be seeing each other, in concert setting – SOON! A long awaited moment,” began the note.

“As the Band re-enters concert mode, Covid-19 and Covid variants will still have a surface and airborne presence at these gatherings,” they continued. “Covid-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and/or death. By attending a Widespread Panic show, you voluntarily assume all risks related to COVID-19 exposure. Whenever possible, physical distancing and mask wearing are strongly encouraged; and hand washing has always been a good idea.”

Panic then noted that they hope that fans will look out for each other as they attend these shows. “The Widespread Panic audience has always been admired for its caring attention toward one another. Let’s continue that tradition of looking out for “Family,” using all of our recently acquired skills for celebrating safely. To ensure the health and safety of everyone, please help each other comply with the rules and information posted throughout the venue, as well as guidance given by Security.”
