DelFest has announced that it will push its festival back from the set dates in May. The event has been rescheduled to Sept. 23-26.

Rob and Ronnie McCoury, who host the festival along with the rest of the Del McCoury Band, posted an update on the festival’s website and social pages.

“We don’t think it’ll come as a surprise to any of you that we will not be able to have DelFest in May. The good news is, we are going to have a DelFest in 2021…with new dates of September 23-26,” they wrote.

“As we’ve said many times, we won’t do anything that is unsafe,” the note continued. “[As] we get closer to September, we believe it’ll be very clear what modifications need to be made to keep all of you fine people safe, and we can have a DelFest that feels right.”

The message went on to say that their parents – Del and Jean McCoury – are fully vaccinated. They also noted that those who have tickets to the current festival can either use them in September or at the 2022 festival.
