On Feb. 13, The Allman Betts Band performed a show at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, dubbed ‘The Allman Family Revival.’ The show was livestreamed online and attended by a socially distanced audience. Throughout the show, ABB was joined by a series of guests, including Luther Dickinson, frequent Allman Brothers Band guest Jimmy Hall, Shannon McNally, Patrick Sweany and more.
The band was also joined by Lamar Williams Jr., son of the late Allman Brothers Band bassist Lamar Williams. With Williams Jr. as a guest, The Allman Betts Band had four children of Allman Brothers members on stage (Devon Allman is Gregg Allman’s son, Duane Betts is Dickey Betts’ son and bassist Berry Duane Oakley is Berry Oakley’s son).
After a series of originals to kick off the show, ABB began to dip into some covers. They invited blues guitar virtuoso J.D. Simo to the stage for renditions of “Hot ‘Lanta” and “With a Little Help From My Friends.” Shannon McNally then joined for a performance of her own “Mama Help Me” followed by Jackson Browne’s “These Days.”
Later, Luther Dickinson and Lamar Williams took the stage together for performance of “What You Gonna Do?” by The Staple Singers and a spirited version of The Allman Brothers’ “Ain’t Wastin’ Time No More.” Dickinson would return later for “Dreams” and “Blue Sky,” while Williams returned for a late-set “Trouble No More.”
The core lineup of The Allman Betts Band closed the show with “Jessica” sans guests. They then invited everybody out for an encore of “Midnight Rider.”

February 17, 2021 at 1:41 pmI enjoyed the show but it was not nearly as good as the previous 3 shows at the Fillmore.
Hey!

February 16, 2021 at 4:05 pmI had the exact same question and can’t find any info online anywhere. Hope BO JR is OK. Pedro Alvaredo sat in. He was Dickey’s bassist for years. Really talented
curious
February 16, 2021 at 3:20 pm>> bassist Berry Duane Oakley is Berry Oakley’s son
That wasn’t Berry Oakley Jr. on bass though. Can’t remember who they introduced but it wasn’t Berry. Anyone have any idea what happened to Berry?
