On Jan. 29, Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom will host the 12th annual ‘Tunes for Barrett” benefit concert. The event will consist of two shows (an early and a late show), and the audience will be socially distanced. It was initially scheduled for Dec. 11.

The shows will feature Circles Around the Sun’s Mark Levy, former Tedeschi Trucks member Bill McKay, JJ Grey & Mofro’s Todd Smallie and Scott Rednor of Brothers Keeper and Dean Ween Group

According to the description on Cervantes’ website, “Tunes for Barrett is an annual event held in Denver with friends and neighbors of our amazing community getting together to have fun for a great cause!” The event aims to raise money for Rett Syndrome, which is “a unique neuro-developmental disorder which begins to show its affects in infancy or early childhood… The disorder severely disrupts the development of gross and fine motor skills as well as robbing girls of their ability to speak and communicate with the outside world.”

According to the event’s description, “funds raised in the past have been used toward the purchase of a handicap accessible vehicle as well as for therapy equipment, a custom handicap accessible shower, and ramps.”
