For the upcoming reissue of Prince’s Sign O’ the Times (out Sept. 25), the late musician’s estate has shared one of the many unheard tracks from the stacked release, a second version of “Witness 4 The Prosecution.”
The first take on the tune was released in June and backed by Prince’s trusted band The Revolution. This second take was recorded in October 1986 has Prince playing most of the instruments.
According to a press release, it was originally written for country singer Deborah Allen, but Prince chose to keep the song, giving her the track “Telepathy” instead.
