Tedeschi Trucks Band hosted their Sun Sand and Soul event at Miramar Beach, FL’s Seascape Resort from Thursday-Saturday. On Thursday, Karina Rykman and Teskey Brothers supported TTB while on Saturday Blackberry Smoke and Duane Betts & Palmetto Motel supplied opening duties. JJ Grey & Mofro, St. Paul & The Broken Bones and Maggie Rose performed on Saturday.

On Sunday, Tedeschi Trucks Band invited out a few guests during their headlining set. Partway through their performance, Betts emerged for The Allman Brothers Band classic “Dreams.” Later, during the night’s encore, Blackberry Smoke’s Charlie Starr appeared on Matthew Moore’s “Space Captain,” a tune his band has covered.

In a statement, Betts said, “Last night was truly transcendent. I always love playing with Derek & Susan, but this was extra special. Maybe we had the spirit of my father there with us, maybe we were serenading the heavens for him. Either way, it was a moment I will never forget.”

Betts, the son of Dickey Betts, performed with two other Allman Brothers, Warren Haynes and Chuck Leavell, in New Orleans on Wednesday.
