Performing comfortably on an elevated balcony, indie darlings Yo La Tengo offered Northeast fans a pair of socially-distant shows on Aug. 7 and 8 at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art, aka the Mass MoCA.

Fans brought their own camp chairs to the shows, sitting in designated squares marked on the ground.

Musical highlights included Aug. 7 covers of Bob Dylan’s “Wanted Man” and Wilco’s “If I Ever Was A Child.” The latter tune was a nod to Wilco’s Solid Sound festival which takes place at the same site every year. YLT’s only other performance of “If I Ever Was A Child” took place on 12/17/17 with Wilco’s own Jeff Tweedy and his son Spencer.

Aug. 8 – on the other hand – was punctuated by a three-part encore, featuring The Troggs’ “With a Girl Like You,” DEVO’s “Bottled Up” and The Velvet Underground’s “I Found A Reason.”

Check out each evening’s setlists and watch the band perform “Our Way To Fall” on Aug. 8 (via YouTuber Mark Balas) below:
