On Aug. 12, Talking Heads and Tom Tom Club drummer Chris Frantz will participate in an Instagram Live conversation with Julia Cumming, who is the bassist and lead vocalist for psychedelic, post-punk band Sunflower Bean.

Frantz will discuss his storied career through the lens of his new book, Remain In Love. “Both the backbone of Talking Heads’ angular art rock and mastermind of Tom Tom Club’s post-punk hip-hop disco vibes—in both cases, alongside his wife Tina Weymouth—Chris Frantz played a significant role in reshaping what rock music could sound like in the 70s and 80s,” read a description of the event on SummerStage’s website. “His new book “Remain in Love” dishes on Talking Heads’ enigmatic frontman David Byrne, touring Europe with the Ramones, and witnessing the chronic sexism Weymouth endured.”

Frantz recently discussed his new book, his work with Talking Heads and Tom Tom Club, the Grateful Dead and the power of live music with Relix. Read that discussion here.
