Patti Smith has announced An Evening of Words & Music, a broadcast from Brooklyn’s Murmrr Theatre celebrating her last memoir, Year of the Monkey.

This one-time experience will act as Smith’s lone 2020 performance, and include live readings from Year of the Monkey as well as a performance with long-time bandmate, Tony Shanahan.

The broadcast is scheduled to premiere on Sept. 4th, at 9 p.m ET.

According to a press release, “Year of the Monkey is a profound, beautifully realized memoir in which dreams and reality are vividly woven into a tapestry of one transformative year –  with an entirely new chapter and ten new photos.”

Tickets go on sale Aug. 7th at 11 a.m ET.
