For this week’s ‘Shakedown Stream’ broadcast, the Grateful Dead will air their Apr. 21, 1972 performance for Beat Club TV in Bremen, West Germany. The show took place during the Dead’s legendary Europe ’72 tour. The broadcast will begin at 8 p.m. ET on May 22.
Audio from this Dead show had not been heard until it was released on the 2011 box set Europe ’72: The Complete Recordings. Later, the band premiered the video at the fourth Meet Up At The Movies event, which occurred in July of 2014.
In addition to the stream itself, the Dead will once again present a Shakedown Stream pre-show, hosted by David Lemieux and Gary Lambert. This week’s guest will be former GD tour manager Sam Cutler, who fans may remember from the Long Strange Trip docu-series. To submit a question for Cutler, click here.
“This Friday, May 22nd, the SHAKEDOWN STREAM is all about international love,” wrote the band in a post on social media. “The pre-show, hosted by David (Canada) & Gary (USA), will be joined live by special guest, former Grateful Dead Tour Manager, Sam Cutler (UK/ AU Resident). Afterward, there will be a screening of the Grateful Dead’s live performance from Bremen, West Germany (4/21/1972)–recorded while the Dead were on their infamous Europe ‘72 Tour for Beat Club TV.”
Tune into the stream on the Grateful Dead’s YouTube channel.

DUDE 2 weeks ago YOU David Lemieux promised us explicitly “previously unseen” And once again you don’t follow through.
Say what you mean and mean what you say isn’t too much to ask.
