On Apr. 22, Tipitina’s in New Orleans will play host to a benefit show for drummer “Mean” Willie Green, who has been struggling with health issues. The show has been dubbed “Give The Drummer Some.” Green has drummed with The Neville Brothers, the Klezmer Allstar and New Orleans Suspects.
The show will feature sets by the Klezmer Allstars and New Orleans Suspects, and it will also feature a special set by George Porter, Jr., Ivan Neville, Stanton Moore, Tony Hall and Ian Neville. For this special set, a rotating cast of NOLA drummers will fill out the rhythm section.

The 12/30 and 12/31/1987 openers and 3rd Encore Set w the real Grateful Dead were some of the finest shows I ever did see! Loved those last 5 New Year’s runs…..WOWSA!!!
