After returning to the stage for the first time in 14 years, Oysterhead played their second show in Colorado on Saturday night, debuting tunes by Cream, Primus and Phish.
Their namesake composition “Mr. Oysterhead” kicked off the festivities, and while that number, plus the rest of first half, were repeats from the evening prior – “Oz is Ever Floating,” “The Grand Pecking Order,” “Rubberneck Lions,” Shadow of a Man” – a debut of Cream’s “White Room” surprised the sold-out crowd as a set-closer. (Les Claypool took on vocal duties while Trey Anastasio served up wailing guitar theatrics.)
Set two offered another slate of Oysterhead originals – “Birthday Boys,” “Little Faces,” “Polka Dot Rose,” “Wield the Spade,” “Radon Balloon,” “Army’s On Ecstasy” and “Owner of the World” – but it was the band’s Saturday night encore that was the most intriguing, as Anastasio, Claypool and drummer Stewart Copeland visited the Primus and Phish songbooks with versions of “Those Damned Blue-Collar Tweekers” and “First Tube.”
Oysterhead then treated the crowd at the 1stBank Center to second encore of “Pseudo Suicide.”
Check out the full setlist (as it appears in our Box Scores section) and watch a clips of “White Room” and the “Those Damned Blue Collar Tweekers”/”First Tube” encore (via YouTubers mrmojoinco and weekap420) below:

February 17, 2020 at 11:08 amgotta admit, these guys bring it. Love to see the energy of their rebirth. One thing hasn’t changed however, they are probably the worst cover band to ever grace the big stage.

February 17, 2020 at 2:45 pmtrue, Michael. they are not a cover-band. i misspoke. just meant they do a amazing job with original material, and butcher the tunes of the bands they cover. examples, led zep, cream, police…
