The Songwriters Hall of Fame has just announced that Steve Miller will be a 2020 inductee at their 51st annual ceremony.

The Awards Dinner will be held on Thursday, June 11 at the Marriot Marquis in New York City. Miller will be inducted alongside a variety of other artists like Mariah Carey, The Isley Brothers, Pharell Williams, Eurythmics and more.

For close to 50 years Miller’s brand of polished pop-rock hits – including “The Joker,” “Take The Money and Run,” and “Fly Like an Eagle” – reached both critical and commercial success.

“Writing songs and playing music has been a wonderful life for me and to be inducted into a hall where Merle Haggard, Willie Dixon, Bob Dylan, Chuck Berry, and Paul McCartney are in the room is an unexpected honor and I’m delighted and grateful,” Miller said in an official statement.

Miller was recently surprise guest on CBS This Morning. The musician performed some of his classic songs and discussed the honor of joining the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Steve Miller Band will also announce a full U.S. tour in the near future.
