On Dec. 31, The Disco Biscuits rung in the New Year with the final show ever at New York City’s PlayStation Theater. The show was highlighted by a three-song first set, a cover of Pink Floyd’s “Run Like Hell” that opened the second set and closed the show, and a “Helicopters” sandwich in the third set.
The first set began with “Jigsaw Earth” before the band moved into the relatively new “Stars in the Sky.” The “Stars” gave way to a significant jam in “Basis For A Day” which closed the set. The second set began with the Biscuits take on Pink Floyd’s “Run Like Hell” before the band counted down to the new decade in “Anthem.” The set closed with a sandwich segment of “Spacebirdmatingcall” > “4th of July” > “Spacebirdmatingcall.”
The third set began with “Mindless Dribble” before the Biscuits began another sandwich segment beginning with “Helicopters,” with lyrics changed to reflect the new year. “We Like To Party” came next, followed by a “Tractorbeam jam.” The band completed the sandwich by returning to “Helicopters” to close the set.
The encore began with “Frog Legs,” followed by a return to “Run Like Hell” to close out the show.
The Disco Biscuits return to the stage on Jan. 2 at the Riviera Theater in Chicago. For more information, visit discobiscuits.com. Check out the full setlist from their New Years Eve show below (via Phantasy Tour).
