On Dec. 30, Umphrey’s McGee continued their New Years Eve run at the Fillmore Auditorium in Denver, Colo. The first set of the show featured only one song, “Ringo,” with some guests joining them at various moments. “Ringo” and its accompanying jam segments lasted over an hour. The show also featured a pre-show set for fans who purchased a VIP package (check out the setlist for that below).

After the VIP set, the proper show began innocently with Ringo. However, after some initial jamming, the band invited Kyle Hollingsworth to the stage to provide some keyboard work. As Hollingsworth left, the band returned to Ringo before delving back into improvising. Later in the jam, saxophonist Jeff Coffin took the stage. After over an hour of improv, the band wrapped up the first set.

The second set began with “1348,” followed by “Hajimemashite.” Later in the set, the band invited Nicholas Gerlach for a cover of Billy Joel’s “Scenes From an Italian Restaurant.” It was the first time UM has played the song since February 2010. The set closed with “Bridgeless.”

For the encore, the band again invited Gerlach to the stage for “Booth Love,” before they transitioned back into the set-two-opening “1348” to close the show.

Umphrey’s McGee returns to the Fillmore in Denver tonight for their New Years Eve show.
