Phish have announced a surprise December gig in conjunction with SiriusXM’s Phish Radio and Pandora.
The show is scheduled for Dec. 3, and it will take place at The Met in Philadelphia.
And while this upcoming show will mark the quartet’s first appearance at the century-old Philadelphia venue, Trey Anastasio and Jon Fishman’s Ghosts of the Forest did make a stop there in April 2019.
The 3,500-seat room will be significantly smaller than Phish’s other fall tour stops, such as Rhode Island’s Dunkin Donuts Center (12,400), Nassau Coliseum (14,500), Petersen Events Center (12,508) and the North Charleston Coliseum (13,295).
In fact, this Dec. 3 gig will be the smallest U.S.-based Phish show since the group’s 2000 performance at Roseland Ballroom for a VH1 television taping (though it is worth noting that the band has done a few in-studio tapings for late-night television that have been smaller).
The entire show will broadcast on Sirius XM’s Phish Radio (Ch. 29).
According to the band, “SiriusXM subscribers will have numerous opportunities to win a pair of tickets to this show, including on-air on Phish Radio, online at SiriusXM.com/Phish (to enter, see Official Rules for complete details at SiriusXM.com/Phish), via e-mail invitation sent to qualified subscribers who have opted in to receiving email from SiriusXM and who have registered their music interests at SiriusXM.com/perks.”
