David Crosby by Allison Murphy, Donald Fagen by Dino Perrucci

On Wednesday, Oct. 16, Steely Dan offered the second performance of their six-night Beacon Theatre residency, playing The Royal Scam in its entirety and welcoming David Crosby for the second night in a row.

Crosby echoed his Tuesday night appearance with The Dan playing on the same two tunes, a late-set “Wooden Ships” and an encore of “Reelin’ In The Years.”

In fact, Wednesday’s “greatest hits” portion following The Royal Scam was almost identical to Steely Dan’s first show, with “Black Friday” and “Hey Nineteen” kicking things off. New additions included “Peg” in place of “Godwhacker” before returning to form with “Keep That Same Old Feeling” and the aforementioned “Wooden Ships.” Steely Dan closed their set with “Bodhisattva” and “My Old School,” before Crosby’s amended encore of “Reelin’ In The Years.”

Steely Dan continue their Beacon Theatre run on Frdiay, Oct. 18 with a “Popular Demand” show.
