Phil Lesh has announced that he has postponed his upcoming three-night “Phil-O-Ween” run at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY, to allow for further recovery following the back surgery he underwent earlier this fall.

In place of the Grateful Dead bassist, Dark Star Orchestra will be performing their own three-night Halloween run, where they will recreate classic Dead shows from The Cap. DSO will play Oct. 31–Nov. 2 at the venue. Tickets will go on sale tomorrow, Oct. 15, at 10 a.m. ET at the following links: 10/31, 11/1, 11/2 (links will go live at on-sale time).

According to a statement from The Cap, “Phil’s surgery was a success and we are working with Phil to reschedule the shows and will announce new dates as soon as we can.” Tickets to the original Lesh dates will be honored at the rescheduled shows. Ticket refunds are also available at point of purchase.

Lesh himself recorded a video explaining the situation and apologizing for the postponement (which can be seen below), saying, “I’m feeling really good, but the doctors recommend that I take more time to recover from the surgery.”
