On Saturday, Sept. 28, Jimmy Herring and his new band The 5 of 7 made their Brooklyn Bowl debut.
The single set outing kicked off with a version of Miles Davis’ “Black Satin,” and moved through tunes like “The Big Galoot” (which dates back to the band King Baby, featuring 5 of 7 guitarist Rick Lollar, keyboardist Matt and bassist Kevin Scott) and “Sketch Ballad” (which Herring played with his Invisible Whip band).
The show ended with Herring’s Lifeboat cut “Scapegoat Blues,” and fans were able to enjoy the performance both in person and via free livestream courtesy of The Relix Channel.
