West Virginia hosted its inaugural 4848 Festival this past weekend at the Snowshoe Mountain Resort in Snowshoe, WV, and the three-day gathering was highlighted by two offerings from Greensky Bluegrass and set from fellow headliners Umphrey’s McGee, who welcomed members of Greensky on Saturday evening.

First up were Greensky, who opened up their weekend on Thursday with a weather-delayed one-set performance (truncated from the promised two-set affair) that featured the band’s debut of Tyler Childers’ “Universal Sound.” Returning to the stage on Friday, Greensky welcomed a few friends to the stage throughout their two sets, including Joshua Davis, who lent his guitar and vocal skills to “Delta 88” early on in the first set. To close out that frame, Greensky brought up guitarist Marcus King, who also played 4848 Festival with his own band, for “I’d Probably Kill You” and “Ain’t No Bread in the Breadbox.” For set two, Greensky welcomed guitarist Cris Jacobs to sing and play on “Past My Prime” and “Bone Digger.”

On Saturday evening, Umphrey’s McGee delivered their own one-set headlining performance, which included a major “Nothing Too Fancy” collaboration that saw UM host Greensky Bluegrass mandolinist/vocalist Paul Hoffman and his bandmate and dobroist Anders Beck, along with guitarist Billy Strings.

Check out Umphrey’s and Greensky’s full setlists below, along with fan-shot video of the Greensky/Marcus King and UM/Greensky/Billy Strings collaborations (note: the first two videos’ titles are switched—”I’d Probably Kill You” is the first video below). Next up for Greensky Bluegrass is a July 17 show in Norfolk, VA, while Umphrey’s McGee head to Raleigh, NC, for a July 18 performance.
