Grateful Dead Inc. has shared yet another archival pro-shot video, as part of their “All The Years Live” video series.

This week, we’re headed back to summer tour 1990, when the Grateful Dead descended upon Louisville, Ky.’s Cardinal Stadium. This “China> Rider” opened the second set of the show, getting Deadheads dancing straight out of the gate.

Says GD archivist David Lemieux, “By 1990, China/Rider had been in the Dead’s repertoire for more than 20 years, since they were first joined in the Fall of 1969. A consistently played combination until 1995 (aside from a brief hiatus 1975-1978, with one performance during that span on 12/29/77), this was most commonly a second set opener in the later years, usually going into a Weir song. This sequence is from Brent’s final tour with the Grateful Dead.”
