The New Mastersounds have announced they will release their new studio album, Shake It, Sept. 13 via guitarist Eddie Roberts’ Colorado-based label, Color Red.

The band has also shared the first single from the effort, “Let’s Go Back,” which premiered at JamBase and can be heard below. On the track, which features NMS collaborating vocalist Lamar Williams Jr., songwriter and keyboardist Joe Tatton says, “I had a late-night NMS writing session with Lamar and when we went through the original groove, based on some Lee Dorsey songs, his voice fit perfectly with the piano chords. Lyrically, this is a message that it’s never too late to go back!”

The New Mastersounds have also announced a batch of fall tour dates, opening Sept. 26 at Atlanta’s Terminal West after a couple shows in the UK. The tour will hit venues across the country through mid-October. Tickets for the newly scheduled dates, which can be seen below, go on sale this Friday, May 17, at 10 a.m. local time.

The band plays this week in Portland, ME, and Fairfield, CT, before heading to Brooklyn Bowl this weekend for three shows at the venue including their annual all-ages Saturday afternoon set. See The New Mastersounds’ full schedule here.
