HeadCount has announced a special giveaway with one lucky entrant winning the chance to be co-founder Peter Shapiro’s personal guest at the LOCKN’ Festival, including meetings with Trey Anastasio, Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi and Bob Weir.
The cost to enter starts at $10, and the money raised will go toward the non-profit’s ongoing, bipartisan push to increase voter registration nationwide.
According to the contest listing on Prizeo.com, HeadCount will “fly you and a friend to Charlottesville, VA then you’ll be supplied with camping facilities and a pair of “Friends and Family; tickets for all four days of the LOCKN’ festival, August 22–25. Pete will whisk you around the festival on his golf cart, give you a backstage tour, and the royal VIP treatment. You’ll be a fly-on-the-wall as Pete runs the festival and greets various artists, including scheduled meetups with Trey Anastasio of Phish, Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi of Tedeschi Trucks Band, and Bob Weir of The Grateful Dead and Wolf Bros. You’ll also get unlimited access to the exclusive ‘Hang’ area for friends and family, a stage-side viewing deck, and access to the VIP viewing area in front of the stage.”
HeadCount is also running a similar raffle to meet Jim James at the High Sierra Music Festival.

April 27, 2019 at 10:25 pmHeadcount is interest in registering voters. If you’re implying that those disenfranchised often by choice, are more likely to vote democrat than your right it’s non partisan. Registering young people tends to lead to registering more Democrats. Don’t worry I vote Democrat as a kid. I choose not to vote today but I’d much more likely vote republican than democrat. They don’t turn down anyone that wants to register. The Trump thing is a whole other matter. Don’t know how anyone voted for that dude but i know I’m out of touch. Tune in, turn on, drop out
