The New Deal is shaking things up with a new track and a refreshed lineup, which they’re affectionately nicknaming TND3.

Original members Dan Kurtz (bass) and Jamie Shields (keys) have welcomed drummer Davide Di Renzo into the fold, replacing Joel Stouffer who was featured in the band’s 2014 reunion.

“We’ve been shedding in the studio together for the past several months and are excited to get back out on the road,” Shields wrote via the band’s Facebook. “With Davide it’s a bit like ‘coming back home’ as he was the drummer that inspired our original direction back in 1998 when the three of us played our first impromptu gig together in Guelph, Ontario. Each of the band’s drummers has brought something unique to theNEWDEAL, and with Davide we’re reaching back to move forward with the organic-infused improvisation that has long-inspired a big part of theNEWDEAL sound.”

The trio also scheduled a pair of summer tour dates at Hammonton, NJ’s Beardfest (June 13-16) as well as Twain, Calif.’s Wave Spell festival (Aug. 15-18).
