Galactic are enjoying their new role as owners of the famed Tipitina’s in New Orleans, and to show their excitement they have added a third show to their annual New Orleans Mardi Gras run.
On March 1, 2 and 4 the band will hold down the club with their unique brand of funk. The last show – on Monday, March 4 – is particularly special as it will be the band’s traditional, late-night “Lundi Gras” show that will stretch into the early morning hours and usher in the city’s Mardi Gras celebration.
“Our goal is to preserve, promote, and protect the future of New Orleans music, culture and heritage via the Tipitina’s venue and brand,” Galactic drummer Stanton Moore said when Galactic purchased the club in late November 2018.
