Gov’t Mule brought their tour to the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles on Tuesday night, and the band continued their collaboration-filled summer by welcoming a couple of old friends in Doug Woolverton and Jimmy Vivino.
First up was Woolverton, who added his trumpet to Mule’s take on James Brown’s “Doing it to Death” near the end of the band’s set, just after they fit a cover of Tom Petty’s “Breakdown” into “Beautifully Broken.” For the encore, Mule brought out guitarist Vivino for “Feel Like Breaking Up Somebody’s Home.”
See the full setlist below as it appears in our Box Scores section, along with fan-shot video of last night’s “Breakdown.” Next up for Gov’t Mule is a show tonight at The Van Buren in Phoenix, AZ.
